lowest air fares, cheap air faresIf you are looking for bargain air fares to go on an impromptu weekend getaway, you might need to search high and low for them. Since fuel has climbed so high in the last year, the lowest air fares are now what we were paying for premium air fares a year ago. The airlines have been hard hit by the rise in fuel prices, and have passed many of the costs onto the consumer in the form of baggage, beverage, and snack fees. And that doesn't even address how much fares have gone up. I checked a flight that used to cost me $120 round trip last year, and this year it costs $300. And I'll have to pay to check a bag, so I guess I'll be changing the oil in my car, and driving there. The days of cheap air fares are apparently gone, so when searching for the lowest air fares, I and other bargain hunters will have to be much more patent about finding results, and learning to settle for higher bargain prices than we ever dreamed about a year ago.
