cheap airline tickets, cheap air faresThis past summer I was lucky enough to study abroad in Europe for a period of time.  Now the dollar conversion rate was not in my favor, however, I was still able to find some great deals which allowed to travel to Manchester, London, Paris, and Rome.  How was I able to do this?  The answer:  the use of cheap airline tickets.

European airlines differ quite a bit from that of American airline companies.  In Europe, there are companies, which are bargain airlines which offer cheap air fares.  If one is diligent, he or she can tickets for very little, and in very rare occasions free (the taxes are all that has to be paid by the customer).  My friends and I were able to find flights from Paris to Rome for under 50 American dollars.  To be able to get these great deals, one just has to plan ahead so the tickets can be bought a bit in advance.  Plus, it also helps to be traveling during off-peak times, which means July and August are the optimum travel dates.

I really wish an airline similar to the many in Europe would develop here in the United States.  With the rising cost of oil, it seems nearly impossible to find any bargain air fares.  It was wonderful to be able to find some cheap airline tickets in Europe as it allowed me to spend my money in far better ways than travel expense.
